Payment Information
The ER Centers of America accepts most insurance plans and will file insurance claims on your behalf. We are an in-network provider for Aetna and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. We are also a preferred provider for Medicare and Tricare.
The ERCA participates in the following negotiated fee agreements:
These negotiated fee agreements provide similar advantages to patients as provider networks. Please look for the above logos on your Cigna, United or PHCS card to see if your provider participates. If uncertain please contact your carrier. The savings kick in once your deductible is used up.
If ERCA is not in network with your insurance plan ERCA will bill your insurance utilizing the Emergency Room benefits of your plan. There is a new Free Standing Emergency Room Statute in the Texas Health Code, and we are on track to become one of the first licensed Free Standing ER in the state of Texas. Our facility has a significant amount of expensive life saving, monitoring and diagnostic equipment that is unique to emergency rooms. Our nurses and physicians have specific expertise in handling life threatening emergencies. We have taken care of such dangerous conditions as myocardial infarctions (heart attacks), pulmonary emboli (blood clots in the lungs), collapsed lungs just to name a few. All this equipment and expertise does not come free and that is exactly what the emergency benefits in your plan were designed for.
Please note that the Texas law requires medical insurance providers to pay the professional fees for physician services, rendered in medical emergencies, utilizing the emergency benefits of your plan. However, the "self-funded" insurance plans fall outside of the Texas state jurisdiction. If you are not sure, please check with your carrier to see if your plan is one of those "self-funded" plans.
You will be required to pay deductibles and co-payments at the time of service. Additionally, you will be asked to complete a credit card voucher to show financial responsibility for any charges that may not be covered by your insurance company. Your account will not be billed until after you have received your Explanation of Benefits from your provider and we have made reasonable attempts to contact you regarding settlement of your bill.
We understand that some patients have great out-of-network insurance plans but their deductibles are extremely high. If you have one of those plans and your deductible us used up, please refer to the paragraph above regarding the negotiated fee agreements. If your deductible is NOT used up:
